Search "trading course" on Instagram in Pakistan and you'll get two kinds of results. A guy in a rented Lamborghini, and a guy drawing lines on a chart for 12 minutes. Neither one tells you which course is worth your money.
There are hundreds of trading courses in Pakistan right now, from free WhatsApp groups to PKR 100,000+ "mentorships". Most of them look the same from the outside. This guide breaks them down by format, explains what the fee should actually buy you, and gives you a simple way to pick one, whether you live in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad or a small town with a good internet connection.
The 4 Types of Trading Courses in Pakistan
Almost every course on the market falls into one of four formats. The format matters more than the brand name, because it decides how much feedback you'll get.
1. Free content (YouTube, TikTok, Telegram)
Free content is genuinely useful for vocabulary. You can learn what a pip is, how a candlestick works and how to open MT5 without paying anyone.
The problem is what free content can't do. It can't look at your chart and tell you why your stop loss got hit. In our experience, free videos cover maybe 30% of what you need. The other 70% is risk management, psychology and live practice, and none of that fits in a 12-minute video.
2. Recorded courses
You pay once and get a library of videos. It's cheaper than live teaching, and you can watch at 2 AM if you want.
But a recorded course is a video shop, not a course. Nobody checks your homework. Plenty of people who buy one stop watching halfway through, and the ones who finish still have no one to ask when the live market does something the video didn't cover.
3. Live group classes
A teacher runs live sessions for a batch of students, usually one hour a day. You see real charts in real time, ask questions as they happen, and watch other students make mistakes you'd have made too.
For most beginners this is the best value. You get structure, a fixed schedule and live correction at a lower fee than private teaching.
4. One-to-one mentorship
Private sessions with one mentor. The teacher builds the course around your schedule, your account size and your weak spots.
It costs more, and it should. It suits people with unpredictable working hours, people who already trade but keep repeating the same mistakes, and anyone who learns faster with direct feedback on their own charts.
What Should a Trading Course Cost in Pakistan?
Fees range from free to well over PKR 100,000. The headline number tells you very little on its own.
Do this instead: divide the fee by the number of live teaching hours. A PKR 15,000 course with six hours of live teaching costs more per hour than a PKR 30,000 course with twenty. Then ask what's not included — some academies charge separately for recordings, signals groups or "advanced modules".
For reference, here's exactly what our packages at Elite Trading Academy cost:
| Package | Fee | Duration | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trading Basics | PKR 25,000 | 30 days, 3 classes a week | Complete beginners |
| Group Session | PKR 30,000 | 30 days, Mon–Fri | Advanced price action & SMC |
| Trading with AI | PKR 40,000 | 30 days, Mon–Fri | Using AI tools for analysis |
| One-to-One Mentorship | PKR 60,000 | 40 days, daily | Private sessions with Tayyab Jamil |
Every package includes lifetime WhatsApp group support, and a new batch starts on the 5th of every month. The full breakdown is on our fees page.
Can You Learn Trading Online From Any City?
Yes, as long as the classes are live. That one word is the whole difference.
A live online class works the same way as sitting in the room. The teacher shares the chart, you ask questions on the spot, and you practise in the same market session as everyone else. That's why our evening online batch is open to students anywhere in Pakistan, from Karachi to Islamabad, and overseas.
Pakistan's time zone helps here. The London session opens in the afternoon and the New York overlap runs through the evening, so an evening class lands right on the busiest hours for gold and the major currency pairs.
Physical classes still have one advantage: accountability. When the teacher can see you making the same mistake for the third time, it gets fixed on the spot. If you live in Lahore and can attend in person, it's worth it.
What a Good Course Must Teach (In This Order)
The order of the syllabus tells you more than its length. A serious course teaches you how not to lose money before it teaches you how to make it.
- Basics and platform setup — MT4/MT5, TradingView, order types, lot sizes, pips
- Risk management — position sizing, stop losses, risk-to-reward, drawdown rules
- Market structure — trends, support and resistance, BOS and CHoCH
- A complete strategy — price action or Smart Money Concepts (order blocks, liquidity, fair value gaps), with clear entry and exit rules
- Live practice — real-time trading with feedback on your own decisions
- Psychology and review — journaling, handling losing streaks, reviewing your trades
If a course jumps straight to "sniper entries" without spending real time on step 2, that tells you what it's really selling. Our guide to keeping a trading journal shows why step 6 matters more than most people think.
Red Flags to Watch For
Pakistan's trading education market has some specific problems. Walk away if you see any of these:
- Guaranteed profits or fixed monthly returns. Nobody can promise market outcomes. The promise itself is the red flag.
- Offers to trade your money for you. An academy teaches. "Fund management" and "account handling" schemes are where most of the losses in this market come from.
- No losing trades, ever. A mentor who only shows winners is selling a fantasy.
- Pressure to pay today. A real batch has a real start date. Nobody serious needs your decision in the next hour.
- Feeds full of cars, not charts. If the marketing is mostly lifestyle, you already know what you're buying.
- Vague answers on legality and brokers. A good academy explains where retail trading stands in Pakistan and pushes you towards properly regulated brokers. Our post on whether forex trading is legal in Pakistan covers this in detail.

Halal Trading and Urdu Teaching
Two things matter to a lot of Pakistani students and get ignored by most international courses.
First, the halal question. Many students want to know whether forex, gold or crypto trading fits their faith before they start. A good course respects that, explains the main scholarly views and shows you how to set up a swap-free (Islamic) account. Read is forex trading halal for the full discussion.
Second, language. Trading has enough jargon already. Learning it in Urdu, with English terms explained as you go, makes concepts like liquidity and order blocks click much faster. Every class at Elite Trading Academy is taught in Urdu.
How to Test a Course Before You Pay
You don't have to take anyone's word for it, including ours.
- Attend a free demo class. You'll see the teaching style, the classroom and how questions get answered.
- Ask to see a losing trade and how the teacher handled it.
- Read the Google reviews, not just the testimonials on their own page.
- Practise on a demo account while you decide. Our guide to demo trading explains how to use one properly.
We run a free demo class every Saturday at our Johar Town campus, so you can meet Tayyab Jamil and the team and see a live market walkthrough before you enroll.
